and the material of the frame; also we can accord to our own characters to select the glasses, such as our hobby, our taste, and our skin color. Now there are some advices to choose glasses according to our facial features.
As we know, every person has a different and unique facial feature. They can generally be divided into five types: round face, long face, melon (oval) face, square face, and elliptic face. Different facial features are suitable to different frame glasses.
The characters of round face are that cheeks are plump and smooth-skinned; the forehead is circular arch in shape and a little large, and the chin is perfectly round. Totally the round facial feature gives people an impression of being well stacked and lovely. So these kinds of glasses with distinct edges and corners are suitable to such people with round face. However, choosing the frames with round gold or silver ring would make the face looked much rounder. It is better for people with round face to wear frames with wide and oblique lines, which can cause the face to look a bit longer.
The feature of the typical long face is that forehead is large, the jawbone is a bit protruding, and the chin is also slightly long. And the broadside nose pads and deep color of frames are good for such facial feature. Because the wide edge and big frame can cover many face’s lower part, which can moderate the feeling of straight lines. Therefore it is suggested that people with long face wear this kind of glasses.
The wide and flat forehead, the pointed chin in triangle shape, the jawbone nearly being impartial with eyes, all these are oval face’s characteristics. And the oval face is also called the melon face, which is considered as the most beautiful facial feature. The lower parts line of this kind of facial feature is smooth and symmetrical. Therefore, it should be better to choose the oval-shaped or elliptic- type frames with clear vertical lines.
Wide forehead, distinct facial edges and corners, slightly high and wide jawbone, not very obvious lateral face characterize the square facial feature. And it is suitable for people with such facial feature to wear the circle or the elliptic frame glasses, because these kinds of glasses can make the contour of the face much softer. Also to wear the metal frame glasses with bright colors can eliminate the stiff feeling.
The elliptic face is similar to the oval or melon face, and is also suitable to wear many kinds of frames, as long as the frame size is in the proportion with face’s size.
