Refraction is the basic test of the eyes focus problems or refractive errors. In general, there are three types of refractive errors: hyperopia, myopia and astigmatism. Hyperopia refers to the condition that the eye is shorter than normal, resulting in a focal point behind the retina which leads to blurry near vision. Myopia is an opposite condition that results from too long eyes. Nearsighted people can not see distant objects clearly. Astigmatic individuals have aspheric corneas which have different curvatures around the eye axis. (more…)

This years Academy Awards ceremony revealed more than just the winners in each catacgory of honor. Yes, this year revealed much about the fashion industry. Steve Martin wore Persol, Robert Downey Jr. wore Oliver Peoples, Sidney Hicks wore Marc Jacobsand that is just the eyewear on display at this illustrious event! Everyone looked fantastic and classically elegant rather than annoyingly underdressed or wearing something ridiculous for the sake of getting your name recognized. This year was all about a better era. The accidental theme of the awards, at least in the fashion sense, was elegance and 1950s charm. The men were all in tuxedos, with very little variation except for a few accessory changes like Downey Jr.s Oliver Peoples. The ladies were the very embodiement of grace in long, ruffled gowns that could have been just as popular in the years after WWII. (more…)
