My sister called my last night. On hearing her voice on the other end of the telephone wire, I, to be very frank, was a little bit impatient because these days she has rung me frequently. What she wanted to tell me was very trifle matters happening in her daily life. Sometimes I did not have any interest in her experience but I could not stop her, so I had no choice but to answer the phone. She always had so many stories to tell, which almost drove me crazy. Last night, she called me again. At first she told me something pleasant or troublesome as usual. Suddenly, she changed the topic, which gave a hint of hope because I could feel there was an obvious turning point. To my great joy, she eventually shared an interesting story with me that greatly enlightened me. Sister told me that she had got a pair of kid’s prescription eyeglasses from my uncle and many of her classmates spoke highly of the unique design of the eyeglasses when she wore it to school the next day. I asked her how much the eyeglasses were charged. What surprised me was that the price was indeed much lower than that offered by an ordinary optician shop near where I lived because I had paid a visit to that shop not long ago.

Though my sister did not know the exact price of that wonderful pair of prescription eyeglasses, she knew her father ordered it online. Her words delighted me for it sounded a good idea to achieve my own purchase goal. I was eager to know that online store where I could also find a good but discount eyeglasses. She opened his father’s computer and sent the address www.prescriptionglassesonline.net via MSN to me. She had never done online shopping by herself before so she could not offer any useful tips.

I logged in the store by clicking the hyperlink. It was a professional online prescription glasses store that enjoyed a high reputation among customers due to its considerate service and liable business image. My first online shopping for a pair of suitable prescription eyeglasses began! How amazing! I found so many stylish eyeglasses on the site. I was almost at a loss to make the final decision. Thanks to the advice of the service personnel online, my online shopping became smooth. I was happy to own such an excellent pair of eyeglasses.

There are varying opinions regarding spectacles; some people think of them as a fashion statement and have no problem wearing them while others find them unappealing. While some people like contact lenses, others cannot stand the idea of sticking something on their eyeball.

The bifocal reading glasses can be traced back to Ben Franklin. Ben Franklin was a busy guy. He was a writer, printer, statesman, politician, scientist and inventor. Now, according to the historical story, Mr. Franklin needed to wear two pairs of glasses, one for seeing distance and one for seeing close up. Being the active and busy guy that he was, he soon grew weary of having to exchange glasses all the time in order to see. So, he decided to cut both pairs of his glasses (called spectacles back then) and joining the two halves together, each for one lens. Now, this was a primitive way of taking care of the problem and technology has come a long way with bifocal reading glasses since then, but it got the job done.

In the most basic sense, bifocal reading glasses are two lenses in one. The smaller portion of the lens near the bottom is reserved for close-up viewing, while the larger area of the glass is used to see in the distance. (For some, though, the bigger portion of the lens contains no prescription correction.) The theory behind this is that a person will look down for close-up viewing such as reading a restaurant menu, but will look up when looking afar. Some bifocal reading glasses have a distinct line that can be seen, while other bifocal reading glasses have an invisible line that joins the two lenses together.

The most obvious advantage of bifocal reading glasses is that it prevents you from having to constantly switch glasses back-and-forth between two different pairs of glasses. For example, you can be looking down and reading a book, but still glance up at the television across the room and still see it! A disadvantage of bifocal reading glasses is that they may take some time to get used to. There may be some initial discomfort and coordination to deal with, but this is usually temporary;most people get used to them fairly quickly. Some bifocal reading glass users have complained of headaches, but again this is usually a short-term side effect. The key for many is learning how to use the two portions of the glasses correctly by looking through the correct part of the lens when performing either close-up work or looking out in the distance.

Anti-reflective coating, or AR, has become an increasingly popular addition to prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses. These coatings provide a wide range of benefits, both cosmetic and optical. AR coating allows for more light to pass through the lens resulting in a lens that looks better due to less reflection. It actually increases visual acuity. These benefits are not without a slight trade-off. AR coated lenses tend to appear dirty quickly and scratch easier than uncoated lenses. Although the anti-reflective coatings of today are significantly tougher and easier to clean, the coatings still require attention in order to keep them in tip-top shape. Modern AR-coated lenses often have a hydrophobic layer to repel water and a scratch resistant coating to increase durability. Keep in mind that there are numerous brands of AR coating that differ greatly in quality. Always consult your eyeglass provider or the lens manufacturer for proper cleaning instructions.

Tips to care for eyeglass lenses with anti-reflective coating for you:
1.Brush or rinse all dirt, dust or particles from lenses. Rinsing the lenses under a stream of tepid water is preferred as this assures removal of all debris from the lens. Failure to perform this first step will eventually result in lens scratches that cannot be removed.
2.Apply a small amount of water-diluted hand soap or dish soap to lenses.
3.Gently rub soapy water on lenses to clean the entire surface.
4.Rinse the lenses thoroughly under a stream of water. Continue rinsing the lenses until the water runs clear. Tap or gently shake excess water from the lenses.
5.Wipe the lenses dry with the lens cleaning cloth provided by your optician or a soft lint-free cloth such as a flour-sack towel.

Bifocal glasses grant you the freedom to focus on both close-up items as well as distant objects.Safety glsses is an essential item in a large number of jobs and hobbies, but if you have presbyopia and you require eye protection, how can you kill two birds with one stone? By wearing the safety glasses with bifocal. It combines both features of safety glasses, for protecting eyes, and bifocal glasses, for correcting vision. Safety glasses with bifocal is a kind of glasses with innovative performance, and it is of various types, such as the anti-fog bifocal glasses, UV protection bifocal glasses, scratch proof bifocal glasses, and shock proof bifocal glasses, etc..

If you are a worker who need to work in damp environment, anti-fog bifocal glasses should be your choice. With them, your lenses are not so easily to get misted, so that you can engage in your work as smoothly as you do in normal environment. Anti-fog bifocal glasses are also suitable for drivers. For the same reason, clear vision can be maintained for the drivers, so that, unnecessary accidents will be avoided. If your work requires you to go outside often, UV protection bifocal glasses will protect your eyes to the most extent. As we all know, some harmful rays from the sun, such as the ultraviolet radiation, blue light and alike are rather harmful to our health, so is it harmful to our eyes. Most UV protection bifocal glasses are able to prevent 99% UV from the sun as long as you buy in professional optical stores.

If you are an athlete or a sport lover, you can select scratch proof as well as shock proof bifocal glasses. Usually when we engage in sports, we have to act violently and in such situation, it is inevitable that glasses fall down on the ground and get scratched or broken. But if wearing scratch proof or shock proof bifocal glasses, you will find they glasses are not so easy to be damaged. At the mean time, we don’t have to worry the danger that fragment of lenses fly into eyes and injury ourself. Additionally, shock proof bifocal glasses are also for those who need to work in dangerous environment. What’s more, the fact is that even every day activities such as mowing the lawn and fishing, etc., require you wear safety glasses with bifocal. Fishing is always a neglected activity for people to wear safety glasses. As a matter of fact the reflection from the water under the sun is very harmful to eyes. If proper measures are not applied, the eyes will get damaged, even in some degree get blind. What you should notice is that when you prepare to buy safety bifocal glasses, you should get the power of both of your eyes by hand in advance, only then can you get the most suitable safety bifocal for yourself.

Frame material is an important factor for the assessment of a pair of eyeglasses. Modern technologies used by eyewear manufacturers are granting eyeglass users with various frame materials. Metal eyeglass frames as the most original option now only account for one of the basic categories. There are also plastic eyeglass frames and even frames made of unusual materials such as wood, bone, buffalo horn, leather, precious stone and so on. In fact, these special materials are rarely used. Until now, metal frames and plastic frames are the main types, within each there are still many variations. In the history of eyeglass development, plastic frames came later than metal ones. It is now widely said that plastic eyeglass frames are lighter and more durable than metal ones. With the invention of some superb plastics such as polycarbonate and high index ones, there are even more individuals who are advocating the extra benefits offered by those plastic frames. These folks have probably ignored the advances made in the world of metals used to produce eyeglass frames deliberately or unintentionally. The truth is that metal eyeglass frames have also made significant progress during the past decades.

Until now, a lot of metals are available for the production of eyeglass frames. Some of them have eliminated most of the disadvantages that were commonly accused in the past. As a mixed of a broad range of metals, Monel features malleability and 100% corrosion resistance. The second advantage can even help wearers react with their skin chemistry. Currently, Monel has been widely used to make eyeglass frames. Titanium and beta-titanium are also advantageous frame materials. They are usually thought to be lightweight, durable, strong and corrosion-resistant. In fact, these materials are also widely used in other fields including Gemini and Apollo space capsules and medical implants. In addition, titanium frames can be made of alloys that combine titanium and other metals, like nickel or copper.

Being corrosion resistant and tarnish, beryllium eyeglass frames are often used as an alternative to titanium frames. They have similar features as titanium frames, but beryllium frames are much cheaper. Nowadays, there are still many men who wear eyeglass frames made from stainless steel. These frames are lightweight, low toxic, strong and hypoallergenic. Moreover, they are excellent resistant to corrosion, abrasion and heat. Also called memory metal, Flexon is a titanium-based alloy which was first used as a frame material by manufacturer Marchon. Even aluminum has been utilized to produce eyeglass frames. All these have enriched the options ofmetal eyeglass frames.

Sunglasses protect the eye from direct exposure to the sunlight, ultra violet rays, or other elements than can cause irritation. However, most people wear sunglasses to look fashionable. It is everyone’s favorite accessory on summer days for outdoor activities.

Although this is entirely acceptable, protection from direct irritants is the basic function of sunglasses. It decreases light rays and glare on your eyes. Constant exposure to irritants like the ultraviolet (UV) rays can damage your eyes. It can also function as visual aid for people who have developed vision problems.

Most people find too much light uncomfortable and annoying. Our human eyes can receive more light rays during outdoor activities than it do inside a building. This can result to migraine, headaches and other eye irritations. The sunglasses act as a shading gadget for your eyes. It allows you to have clear vision even at intensive exposure to sunlight. It can also act as correction eyeglasses.

Some people have light sensitivity problems. Prescription sunglasses can aid a person with this particular condition. Wearing a pair allows one to see clearly and minimize squinting. Most optometrists recommend wearing sunglasses whenever you go outdoors. You need to consult your optometrist to determine which prescription sunglasses are best for your eyes. This kind of sunglasses has your own corrective prescription built into the lenses.

Prescription sunglasses can protect your eyes more efficiently from the sun than regular “fashion” sunglasses. There are a lot of prescription sunglasses you can buy. You may choose the right frame depending on your face shape to look good with it at the same time. Having clear vision has never been this good with the vast selection of frames you can choose from. Just make sure you have the right lenses and corresponding frame to maximize the benefits and assistance you can get from it. Also, see to it that you follow your optometrist’s recommendation. Only a professional is capable of recommending a pair of prescription sunglasses for your use.

Prescription sunglasses are designed for people who have eye disorders, but who do not wish to wear boring spectacles. They have a corrective magnifying power like the lenses of spectacles and contact lenses but are designed in a sleek trendy manner that also caters to the fashion sense of the wearer.

Prescription sunglasses are bought according to the power of the lens as prescribed by an oculist. They can either magnify or diminish images as dictated by the needs of the wearer. Prescription sunglasses are available for all kinds of people who need lesser focal length lenses as well as those who need high prescriptions. Even bifocals are available that enable the wearer to see near and distant objects clearly.

Being sunglasses, prescription sunglasses not only better the vision, but they also protect the eyes from the harmful ultraviolet radiations of the sun. Polarized prescription sunglasses protect the eyes from severe glares from water surfaces, snow or open roads.

The demand for prescription sunglasses has shot up in recent times. Photo-chromatic prescription sunglasses are becoming quite popular. These sunglasses have special lenses that become dark in the sun and lighten up indoors. Hence, they perform the job of both sunglasses as well as spectacles.

Prescription glasses can be as trendy as the wearer wants them to be. They are available in all kinds of frames with lenses of all possible tints and materials. The common materials for designing the lenses are glass, polycarbonate and CR-39 plastic. Glass is still preferred to make prescription lenses because it has superior optical properties. All leading eyewear manufacturers produce vast lines of prescription sunglasses.

Until a few years ago, prescription sunglasses were not available in the wraparound style because the curvature of the lenses increases greatly in the wraparound style and severely distorts vision. But now, prescription glasses with a little wraparound have been designed. This little curvature provided to the glasses offers them a more contemporary look.

Computer prescription sunglasses are also designed. These glasses, when worn, facilitate the user to look at the keyboard as well as at the computer desk without tilting the head. Polarized prescription sunglasses with progressive lenses have been designed especially for presbyopic people.

Prescription sunglasses are custom-made and they vary from person to person. As such they are priced higher. There are generally no refunds while ordering prescription sunglasses.
